Indian variety cows are looked after in the cattle farm maintained here. There are 15 cows (including Gheer(Gujarat), Vechoor, Kasargod Kullan etc.) being looked after. Apart from being able to meet the milk requirement in the Balasadanam, the cattle maintenance provides an opportunity for the boys to know and understand about the age-old culture of cow worshipping. The local public enthusiastically comes to us to have the benefit of purchasing quality milk from here.
The 3 acre Ashram compound is by the side of the river and hence there is plenty of water available for irrigation and drinking purpose. This conducive situation is purposefully utilized for agriculture. Different varieties of vegetables, coconut trees, mango trees, jackfruit trees and also grass for feeding cows etc. are grown here. The agricultural products are used for the benefit of inmates of Balasadanam and Balikasadanam. The inmates are getting involved in agricultural activities and by this, they automatically get interested in agricultural activity.
